Plans post North of England Tour

1) Today (Wednesday 18th jan) Chris and Ali hope to be at St Saviour's - Chris is giving a fellow community worker a supervision, Ali hopes to be doing a three hour bit of journaling - or prayer - or sleeping!? Hopefully they will have found someone to help out with Kirin so they can have uninterupted time.
2) Following their Yorkshire trip (due to start on Thurs 19th Jan for a few days) Ali is back at Barts on Wed 25th for what might be the last chemo. Last time she had a 10 hour wait in a noisy reception area overhearing all about other patients who were considerably more ill than she is .... not great. Please pray for a bed to happen earlier than 7pm and that she can get her 8 hr session of chemo done in a day. Pray that Justin (registrar) or Sarah (the consultant) will be around so that Ali can talk about what happens next. There's some possibility that a couple more cycles of chemo will be needed post scan depending on the results.
3) The scan date is being agreed - probably Feb 15 or thereabouts (Ali's birthday!).
4) Depending when the appointment is for learning the results after the next scan Ali and Chris want to get away and give Ali and Sue a good twins 39th birthday time together. They want to take both families somewhere - ideally with snow - further south than Holland! They're looking for a place to stay, so shout if you know of anywhere good.

The eve of the 5th chemo

1. I go back to work tomorrow after a very nice Christmas break. Ali goes for her 5th chemo. Puts it all in perspective eh?
2. Chris is going in with Ali tomorrow for the duration. They both feel they need time to do talking and processing - something which is not happening enough for them at the moment. Not sure a cancer ward is the most conducive to deep conversation, but it's a start.
3. Ali felt a bit queeezy simply going in to the ward on Monday for a blood test and really hopes that she doesn't feel sick tomorrow.
4. She will go to Norfolk on Thursday with Kirin for post-chemo-recuperation at her mum and dad's. Chris will join them with Asha on Saturday and they'll have some time together there till Tuesday 10th Jan.
5. They are both very grateful for the fact that both kids are sleeping well at the moment.
